Your Leather Artist

Ray Lucian (They/She) is a macabre artist and leather craftsperson in Atlanta, Ga. A self taught hoe-of-all-hobbies, their craftsmanship incorporates various materials, including leather, stone, wire, metal, scavenged animal bones, insects, wood, fabric, paint, sublimation and screen prints…the list goes on.

Ray’s artistic style is influenced by their fascination with the macabre, esotericism, gothic subculture, flora and fauna, and fetish lifestyles. She/they is well known for creating unique heirloom quality fetish toys using exotic hides and designer prints. As a queer person who identifies as a dyke, many of her toys take on a "sapphic sadist" vibe. 

Where It All Began

Ray started their art journey in their early 20’s. From humble beginnings, they started with painting and modifying clothes they found at thrift stores with nothing but dollar tree brush packs, black and white outdoor craft paint, and Bic pen inks cut open and mixed into paint. A cliche of the struggling artist archetype. 

Fast forward to 2018, they traded in thrifted combat boots for 8 inch pleasers and spent a few years in the adult entertainment industry as a stripper. That extra income opened the door to pursue a dream they always had: To be a fashion designer. And while they still wear thrift and don’t expect to see a runway, they are currently living the dream through being a leather artisan.

Fun Fact: The makers mark you see on all of Ray's work is a copy of their stripper tattoo. It's a lucky raven claw holding an amethyst, a tribute to their first stripper name: Raven.

Connections from the strip club and the local kink scene in Atlanta made this dream even more possible. With the additional financial and moral support of their spouse and Leather Family (House Fuji), this dandelion has the roots that you see today. Ray has since retired from the strip club industry as of 2022 due to disability and has moved onto pursuing leather work as a full time career.
