What is a Saddle Stitch? Saddle Stitching is a hand-sewing technique, often used in leathercraft, where two threads are passed through a single line of holes in an alternating pattern, creating a strong and durable stitch that surpasses machine stitching. If a thread is cut on one side of a saddle stitch, but the other side remains intact, the overall stitch will continue to retain its integrity. Whereas in a machine stitch, if one side of a stitch is broken, the entire length of the stitch will be compromised and can eventually separate. Saddle stitching also uses a much thicker thread than a machine can.
We only offer this service for collars and cuffs because saddle stitching can only be done by hand. We recommend this add-on for people that intend to be rough with their restraints.
